LTA ER428 – Junction Enhancement at Lentor Ave, Yishun Ave 1 & 2

This junction enhancement project aimed to widen Lentor Avenue, Yishun Avenue 1 and Yishun Avenue 2 with a new slip road leading from Lentor Avenue to Yishun Avenue 1 and a new bus exclusive carriageway and shelter along Lentor Avenue.
The scopes of widening also included the changes in road profile by recambering and milling down of existing carriageways, drainage works, erection of guardrails and signages, construction of footpath and etc. At the same time, semi-rigid pavements were installed at the road intersections for the approaching traffics.
Besides, a reinforced concrete (RC) box culvert was built across a live road while burrowing through an existing 230 kV cable bridge and a 1.2m-diameter water pipe. Nonetheless, the most challenging aspect of the project was to work within the MRT reserve line of 6 m. Coupled with conscientious planning and work execution, a slew of preventive measures was implemented to safeguard the structural integrity of railway.
Last but not least, the existing Khatib Bongsu Park Connector was given a major overhaul with the laying of new cycling and jogging tracks as well as other associated facilities.
Construction of RC culvert underneath the utilities
Construction of drainage system outfall along Lentor Avenue
Paving of open graded asphalt for the construction of semi-rigid pavement
Refurbishing of Khatib Bongsu Park Connector with new cycling and jogging tracks
New slip road from Lentor Avenue to Yishun Avenue 1
New bus exclusive carriageway and shelter along Lentor Avenue
