Samwoh Awarded Best Paper Award at APTE 2024
Singapore, 17 July 2024 — Samwoh Corporation Pte Ltd has been recognised with the Best Paper Award at the 13th Asia Pacific Conference on Transportation and the Environment (APTE), held from 8 to 9 July 2024. The conference was jointly organised by the National University of Singapore’s Centre for Transportation Research, Environmental Research Institute, and Energy Studies Institute.
The award was presented to the Samwoh Innovation Centre team for their paper titled “Beneficial Use of Carbon Black on the Performance of Recycled Plastic Modified Bitumen”.
The study examined the use of carbon black derived from the pyrolysis of waste tyres in recycled plastic modified bitumen, addressing a key challenge of material separation during long-term storage. The research found that the inclusion of carbon black enhances binder performance properties and improves storage stability, particularly for high-density polyethylene (HDPE) modified bitumen.
This achievement highlights Samwoh’s ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable materials through research and innovation, while supporting the development of more durable and environmentally responsible infrastructure solutions.
